Another Shop to Buy my Fabric!

I am pleased to announce that my hand dyed fabrics are now available in Southeast Ohio!  The Old Bank Mercantile has a small selection of my dyed vintage damask tablecloths and large napkins, some fat quarters and half yard cuts, creativity kits, embellishing yarns and dyed vintage fancy pieces (crocheted or embroidered items).

The shop is located at 180 Broadway, Quaker City, Ohio; open Tuesday through Saturday.  Quaker City is not too far from the intersection of interstates 70 and 77, in the general vicinity of Cambridge and Salt Fork State Park.  If your travels take you to the region, please make a little side trip to check it out.  The shop is located in a 100-some year old bank building (could you tell from the name?).  The owners are still working on restoration, and have kept original fixtures when possible.  Their huge batting rolls are kept in the bank’s vault!  Stop by, support a local business, and support historic preservation.

New venture

I will be a vendor at a craft show at Deerassic Park Education Center/National Whitetail Deer Education Foundation on May 30.  I believe that the show is a fundraiser for their education programs.  The venue is near Cambridge, Ohio, across from the main entrance to Salt Fork State Park on Route 22.

I've been planning on developing a art/craft show line of small, affordable finished items, useful things.  So far, I have a selection of small purses and whole lot of "picnic kits" - quilted placemats with side pockets for silverware.  The placemats roll up and tie into a neat bundle and tuck nicely into a picnic basket, backpack or lunch bag.  They would also be great for anyone who takes a lunch to work.  I might take a small selection of fabric cuts to the show, though the focus will be finished work.  I'll have some art wall hangings too.

Art for Cambridge, Ohio

I am very pleased to announce that I have my textile art in a small art gallery in Cambridge, Ohio.  Art Market 649 is located at 649 Wheeling Ave. in the historic downtown area of Cambridge.  It is a bit of a new venture, though the location was the home of the Eastern Ohio Art Guild (EOAG), an all-media art group.  To make a long story short, the EOAG has turned over the running of the art gallery to another Cambridge business owner as a for profit gallery.  If you are ever in the East Central Ohio area, please stop in and browse, better yet, buy something!  The gallery is full of work from local creative minds: painting, ceramics, photography, etc. and of course my fabric creations.  Currently, they are open 11-6, Wednesdays through Sundays.  I plan on spending a couple days a month there, demonstrating fiber art techniques.

Here's a view of my work in the gallery:
I will be changing out the selection every month.  Of course, the Halloween and autumn leaves are on their way out in the next few days.
